Delve the Thirteenth

The room is 40' wide by 50' North/south. The northern wall is where the players enter.
There is a door in the east wall, 20' away from the entrance, and a door in the south wall, 20 feet in.

There are a dozen small cages in the room, lined along the west wall. In the cages are snakes. It looks like the snakes can easily escape through the bars if they so choose. There are lots of dead mice outside the cages.

Sconces growls a bit. From behind the south door, you can hear the muffled sounds of clanking and pounding

Franklin orders his two archers to stay back and ready their arrows.

Maloof slowly and stealthily enters the room, keeping to the east wall and watching the snakes closely. If they start to leave their cages, he will retreat back north. When he gets to the door in the east wall, he will pause to listen. If he hears nothing, he will continue to the south door to see if he can hear any better what might be going on on the other side.

Nothing at the east door. At the south door, he can hear orcs swearing. His best guess is a bunch of orcs are doing some building or heavy lifting or something

These are small (i.e. normal-sized) snakes, right?

Wiglaff and the archers will cover Maloof's scouting expedition from the north entrance.

Franklin whispers to Drogo and Balbo: "If you see a shaman or wizard, shoot them first."

OOC: Has Franklin's heroism potion expired yet?

These are small (i.e. normal-sized) snakes, right?

Correct - maybe 1-2 feet long, look like common garden snakes. They are not active right now

Maloof is ready to burst in and take the orcs by surprise! Or, to be more accurate, he will stand back and encourage the others (especially Franklin) to do so! While waiting, he quietly checks the door to make sure it's unlocked and ready, in preparation for his friends' assault.

Franklin steps to the front and swaps places with Maloof. He's ready to kick some orc butt (covered by his archers).
