Unless someone wants to question the man about a potential stash, Maloof will carefully remove the man's helmet before bashing his skull in with a mace.

Actually, magic swords (well, mine anyway) do have a limited number of uses for special powers like this. However, I do believe this use is justified, and I had already decided to do so before I read your post.

Maloof could use either one (since he's starting to take a more active role in melee), but he'll defer to the fighter-types if they want them instead.

Wiglaff has no desire for the armour. While others decide, he peeks through the door the toll-taking fighter come from.
