Aldbane rushes into the room, and, seeing the skeletons in the pit, attempts to turn them away from Maloof.
Aldbane the Cleric (Level 5 MV 6" AC 2/3 HD 4 HP 18) plate +1, shield+2, helm, silvered war hammer, sling, staff of healing

Rhod runs into the room and starts uncoiling rope to hand down to him. If he can't take it because of his wound, Rhod will tie it around the altar and climb down to get him.

(I'm assuming Aldbane will be able to turn the skeletons. If not, I may have to fight them.)

Maloof struggles for his Holy Cross, and brings it forth to turn the skeletons.

Maloof's strongly presented cross sends the skeletons scampering back through the door, which closes behind them. Before the door closed, Maloof could see they were guarding a huge pile of coins

While Maloof is being healed, Wiglaff directs his men-at-arms to tie some ropes to the pillars, so we can all climb back out of the pit.

He'll examine the statue's key & torch to see if they can be removed.

Otherwise, once the healing is done & ropes secured, let's climb into the pit & kill the skeletons! When their secret door opens, somebody should jump down on that side of the pit, to block off their retreat & give us sure access to their room.

Maloof is healed <1d6>+1 = 4 hit points by Aldbane's staff, now is at 5/9

The torch lights up when he removes it, in a soft bluish glow
The key changes to a golden key in his hand

Wiglaff will hand the torch off to his torchbearer, and pocket the key for now.

"Let us destroy the undead!"

He's ready to leap down into the pit once the ropes are tied.
