Highbough, like Desmond, is curious if the glamour has been lifted from the Abbey. (He was impressed by the power of the magical effect.) Highbough volunteers to climb the bell tower and have a look around. His night vision is keen, and if nothing else, he would see the light of any nearby campfires...

Highbough will take a few deep breaths of the night air, listening if the owl is trying to communicate something or just hooting. If nothing strange happens, he will return to the others and sound the "all clear."

Highbough calls softly to Wen in a soft Elfish whisper that sounds like gently-hooting owls: "Have the humanoids made up their mind yet? Are we going back to the forest?"

When the time cones, he will volunteer to invisibly scout a short distance ahead.

He feels metallic ridges what might be writing; perhaps an ancient script that can only be read when the metal is heated red-hot? The decrepit Elf may be old [con 5], but an inner well of magic sustains him with adolesce...

Highbough invisibly chuckles to himself as Olaf is overcome by the potent Dwarfish brew. He continues to stand guard at the door. Do his keen ears detect anything unusual? Are there any windows, keyholes, or cracks that he can catch a glimpse of what is going on outside?
