After listening at the door, you open it onto a simple 20 x 30 room, 30' high, and the extra 10' in width to the right. There is a door on the east wall at the very top of the room. The room itself is swept clean, except there is a gold dinner plate lying on the floor in the exact centre of the room

I notice that in player map for level 3, at room 12 at the bottom, the stairs are marked as "up", but they are actually "down"

I only have two responses (probably my fault for only posting twice a month!), so we will go with #2

The way looks pretty clear, and you have no encounters on the way. You are now on level 3, at the bottom of the stairs

I'm not saying I recommend it, but you could always go lower, like to floor 4!

The elevator door closes in time, and lurches up a floor, opening onto an empty room on level 2

The elevator descends, and clanks to a stop. You open the door, weapons ready, and your light spills not into an empty rom, but reflects off a giant wall of clear jelly!

And do you take the elevator, or walk the long route using stairs and traipsing through each level?
