Re: Out Of Character

Welcome to 2024 all! OD&D is 50 years old (woohoo!) and so '24 promises to be a big year for the hobby :) Meanwhile, in our little corner of the internet, we're about to hit the dungeon proper. Admittedly, progress has been slower than anticipated, but I take it as a positive sign that the pream...

Re: Out Of Character

Hi Team, as we're fast approaching Christmas I'm sure everybody has lots to do, and that some of us may be away from the computer for a bit. I'm going to flip over to "slow mo" at the end of this week (Friday 22nd December) which means: I'll still be checking in and posting, but less frequ...

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

Tass: Inside Tass figures the best way out is to back-track... sneaking past the engineers again... out the front door to the build site... then under the scaffolding along the side of the church... and then weaving a route through the stock yards back to Thanis. What could be simpler? Having made ...

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

Thanis: Outside Thanis patiently keeps watch over the site from his hidden vantage. What could Tass possibly be up to? he wonders. The lack of general commotion suggests he hasn't kicked a hornets nest. Yet. As he waits, Thanis notices that a small group of soldiery--six men similar to those seen a...

Re: (02) The Moat House

The party prepares to follow after Thanis and Tass. It isn't long before everyone has their gear packed, and Garamon leads out a single file, followed by Stern, Witherun, Goldwen, and Wraislin, and Flin brings up the rear. The morning is still cool and damp, though the blanket of mist is clearing. ...

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

Looking around, Tass sees there is a mezzanine level overlooking the nave, above and behind him. It's accessed via a spiral stair across the nave from him. If there's someone watching from up there, they would likely spot anyone moving through the nave. Aside from that, and the way he came in, the ...

Re: (02) The Moat House

Good idea, let's get the band together again :)

It's only a ten minute trot to the ruins site, so just declaring who takes the lead will be enough.

I will also assume there has been enough time during the morning for Wraislin to learn his spells.

Re: (02) The Moat House

so to clarify, MUs can learn *any* spells, and not just those they have in a spell book? DD5 says a M-U << must have access to the appropriate spell books to memorize any spell therein >>. The "appropriate" part implies: 1) the spell is of a type and level the M-U can learn, and 2) the M-...
