Re: (055) Wildwood/The Ivory Wold

Dorgan , oblivious to Highbough's insults, will explain how the Snorks had ingratiated themselves with the city's Traders Concourse by bribery and other methods of subterfuge. They had been accepted within the city despite their "security patrols" reaping a heavy tax on caravans outside t...

Re: Out Of Character

I would posit that we do not want to get into any sort of battle with any group that outnumbers us. Goblins are relatively easy at this point, with the number of Heroes we have, but the Worgs are tough opponents. The giants, I will leave to Dieter. ;) I don't know that we need to be sneaking into to...

Re: Out Of Character

Ways, I've got Dorgan at 11,118 for XP. A lot more than what you've got for him. Any idea where I went wrong? EDIT: Strangely enough, when I add up all the XP awarded to him from the posts in the Experience Awards thread, adding 5% only to combat and treasure xp and not longevity awards, I get 10,40...

Re: Hero Titles

I seem to have missed the boat on this one, but heres my 2cp worth: 'The Gustave' is Gustaves self-imposed title when testy; this is suiting for a name of renown i guess, but 'The Governer' (aka 'The Guv') has a nice ring to it and is more likely to have arisen among the people (rather than those w...

Re: Hero Titles

Maybe the peasants assume both of Desmond's heads can fight separately, so they call him Desmond Two-Blades? Less flattering might be Desmond the Demon. Olaf the Phoenix. (Olaf 2.0? The Six Million Dollar Olaf? "We have the relics, we can rebuild him") Highbough the Shadow. The Dark Elf. M...

Re: Out Of Character

You know, we've been throwing bouquets toward Ways for a while now, and rightfully so, but I think it's time we acknowledged another bravura performance.

I can't be the only one thoroughly enjoying Highbough 2.0, right? Great work, mg.

Re: Out Of Character

Ways, what happens if someone claims a magic item, uses it and gets the XP, and then gives it up?

I just want to make sure if we do find the Sisters of Mercy, we can still exchange their artifacts for Olaf's lost level.

Re: Resolving combat in PbP games

I can deal with combat taking a long time when it's as exciting as, say, the battle we just had with the worgs and goblins. That encounter actually happened pretty quickly (at least by Hinterlands standards) because we all knew our characters' lives were on the line and so we were pretty close to a ...
