Maloof circles the room (clockwise) keeping close to the wall, until he reaches the other door. Here he pauses to listen and, if nothing else happens, open the door.
Maloof quickly backs away to break contact with the invisible wall. He inspects it visually however, did it leave a smear or similar where he had touched it?
