Re: And now for something completely different...

I'll have to keep you in mind if I ever get my Crusades game off the ground. I'd need players who were more dedicated than the average PbP'er for that one. I agree with you on keeping PbP games straight. I'm in several, and most of them don't update anywhere near once per day. I think at some point ...

Re: (055) Wildwood/The Ivory Wold

" Ha ha! There can be no debts between comrades ", Gustave replies, " At least, nothing that can't be settled over a good pipe. Err...if I may? ", he adds, raising a hopeful brow as the dwarf lets fly with yet another plume of sweet-smelling blue smoke. Dorgan will pass the pipe...

Re: Out Of Character

Dorgan will pass on everything here. If no one wants the rosary beads, he'd consider wearing them but he'd prefer to see someone like Josiane have them instead. He's fine with the stuff Des is keeping for Rufus' family. We really should make an attempt to scry Ket with the crystal ball and determin...

Re: (055) Wildwood/The Ivory Wold

Dorgan smiles and will take any proffered pipe.

"Don't I owe you some gold, my friend? It's been so long, but I'm fairly sure I borrowed some coin back in Ket, during happier times. You oughtta collect now, while I got it on me."

Resolving combat in PbP games

Has anyone played in a PbP game where combat was resolved in one evening by everyone getting together online, either on a G+ Hangout or using one of the Virtual Table setups like Roll20? When I was heavy into 4e PbP, I tried it once and it was glorious. Combat in 4e was ponderous at best in RL but a...

Re: And now for something completely different...

I have played in at least one game sort of like this. There weren't a lot of private threads; rather, the DM implored/cajoled/ordered the players to only post what they said and did, not what they thought. The hope was that you would be encouraged to be more descriptive in your posts instead of pret...

Re: (055) Wildwood/The Ivory Wold

Dorgan scratches his beard (now freshly trimmed and washed!)

"Mebbe the Staff can lift the curse on Olaf? I dunno. If not, we can ask the Elves if'n they got a cleric that kin do it. And mebbe we can use that ball ta find the Sisters and see if'n they're still alive?"

Re: Out Of Character

It stands out because I saw 2d6 damage come up 6,5 and thought oh no.... But lucky Dorgan had the most HP, a dwarf go figure. I like to ooze battle because I actually did damage and got to be helpful. yay team. But yeah maybe something related to Ironfoot, something that shows he ability to take a ...

Re: Out Of Character

I don;t know but Wolfbane comes to mind. Dorgan took a lot damage on the chin during that fight and didn't flinch. It was awesome! That might not be my favorite battle, since I had to retreat. I need to go back and re-read some of the earlier threads to remind me of his greatest hits. It's probably...
