Re: (04) The Cathedral

Is Charm Person an option without making it blindingly obvious that one is casting a spell at the affected? These are not the adventurers you're looking for... OD&D does tend toward dramatic/obvious spell casting, requiring at least an un-interrupted period of concentration to execute. However,...

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

Tass scans the high cathedral walls for any sign of a decent collapse as a break-in point. Unfortunately, most of the damage appears to have been on the other side (prolly why all the scaffolding and work was being done there). Then he has a doh! moment and almost slaps himself. Along the whole len...

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

The truly underground sections of the drains are thankfully short. Mostly, they are just cobbled ditches, with the occasional iron grate cover that is so clogged with mud and weeds as to completely conceal a Hobbet crawling along the muddy bottom. After a while, the commotion seems to quieten down ...

Re: (04) The Cathedral

The stole-wearer (looking increasingly StarWars Emperor -like) tilts his head a modicum, revealing a severe frown beneath the hood. The other monks flex their white fingers archly, awaiting the Reverend's direction... Clearly, they're not going for it this time. Hmm, the ref decides that this time,...

Re: (04) The Cathedral

Thanis (and the party following) slows for half a moment as he mentally adjusts, then straightens his spine from his usual half-crouch, and--all while completing that single stride-- eases into a regular walk and enters the main cathedral as if nothing could be more common place for him. Not a doze...

Re: (04) The Cathedral

Thanis leads the party through the entry portico (the narthex), and into the main hall of the cathedral. It is an impressive chamber, despite half the roof and part of the top-walls having collapsed long ago. Scaffolding on the outside of the building, supporting the restoration works, are visible ...

Re: (04) The Cathedral

"Rrrright," says the man, relaxing somewhat, as he eyes the dubious looking bunch of pest exterminators. "Of course nobody told me to expect you. I guess you better talk to the Reverend, inside." His staff seem to slowly come around to the idea. "Never did understand why th...

Woo hoo look at me go!
A benefit (IMHO) of running thief skills at a higher level of abstraction is that thieves can be more effective at their primary mission.
If the thief class is included in play, it might as well actually work too :)

What now, Hobbetses?

Re: (04) The Cathedral

The party's eye sight adjusts to the relative dimness almost immediately, wherein they see they have entered the cathedral narthex. It is about 60ft deep and 30ft broad, the party having entered at one of the long ends. The left hand side wall of the narthex is also the front outer wall of the cath...

Re: Out Of Character

These notification irks seem to be a recurring thing with the site.
I'm not sure whether anything has changed or been reset with the site since we last talked out this... perhaps Mike could comment on that?
