Re: The Seventh Adventure

The party currently has two lit lanterns: Willie's lantern, and Dougal's lantern, which is dangling at the end of a rope, 50' down the gorge.

Dame Simonetta and Wilbur have unlit lanterns. Bilfur has torches. Beppo has candles.

Kiplyn is carrying torches, in case he and Dougal need them.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Kiplyn catches up to Dougal's location without incident. However, Kiplyn's web-walking experience is very different than Dougal's: he doesn't get the soothing "carpet of silk" sensation under his feet, and he finds the whole balancing act to be quite nerve-wracking. Kiplyn thinks, he woul...

Re: The Seventh Adventure

And with that... Dougal is gone! He disappears into the shadows, heading west. With every step he takes, the web twangs and vibrates. It looks like a wild ride, but Dougal feels totally in control. In an earlier Adventure, we established that this area is teeming with bioluminescent creatures. Douga...

Re: Out Of Character

My mistake; I must have been thinking about the sequel: "Spider-Goat 2: Bride of Spider-Goat."

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Does this make sense: Kiplyn judges that Dougal is simultaneously acting weird but also not wrong . Like both of those things can be true? From a game-mechanics perspective, Kiplyn would have to grudgingly agree with Dougal: The web is very strong, and if Kip is careful where he steps, he can avoid ...

Re: Out Of Character

Classic @ehiker133 moment! I'm sure having fun with this.

I think I maybe read somewhere that Spider-Goats mate for life, and practice sexual dimorphism? (The ewes are exponentially larger, and hungrier, than the rams.)

Re: The Seventh Adventure

A Few More Words about Climbing I mentioned earlier that abseiling down a rope is the easiest difficulty 1, with automatic success for thieves and 5-in-6 odds for non-thieves. Getting back up the rope is difficulty 2 if the rope is adjacent to a wall (as in this case), or difficulty 3 if the rope i...

Re: The Seventh Adventure

This scene plays out from two different perspectives. The other Hobbets watch as Dougal ignores Kiplyn's question, lets go of the rope and trusts his weight to the web. With a sickening lurch, Dougal immediately drops ten feet into the void, as the web sags under his weight. Then he trampolines bac...

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Dame Simonetta doesn't hear any approaching monsters, nothing threatening. She does hear one thing that's kind of odd, though: As Kiplyn whispers to Dougal , the way his voice echoes is strange. "Are you ok Dougal... Dougal... Dougal..." with a long decay time. The chasm is a relatively c...

Re: The Seventh Adventure

@rredmond , we can definitely have an ongoing conversation, to hash out the exact details and extent of Noh and Carc's special connection. To what extent do they share thoughts and feelings? If one of them is harmed, does it affect the other? Does Carc have his own independent Mythos score, or is h...
