OOC: Feeding a goodberry to the sloth wouldn't neutralize the poison, but it would fill the creature's belly and restore 1hp of conventional damage from the spider bite wounds. This might ease the poor thing's suffering on some level. Bilfur still has a few goodberries left (if he feels so moved).
What I'm trying to say is that Neutralize Poison is a 3rd level Druid spell. When Bilfur reaches 5th level, he can perform first aid on a poisoned creature 1/day, using his 3rd level spell slot.
1. The best first aid would be a Neutralize Poison spell.
2. The giant sloth is much too big to carry (at least 10x larger than a Hobbet).
3. Animal Friendship has a limit of 2HD per Druid level. You estimate the sloth has at least 6HD. So it is too powerful for a 1st or 2nd level Druid to befriend.
Bilfur pulls out his dagger and cuts through the silk strands, revealing the white, shaggy face of a giant cave sloth! The sloth has spider bites all over its body and is comatose from the strong venom. It has strong claws for digging; maybe it is responsible for the tunnels to the north? A 5th lev...
OOC: As I understand it, the party moved north, hugging the eastern wall? That would put you at the northeast corner of the cave, about 40' from the dead spiders and their interrupted meal. The cocooned creature is at the edge of lantern light; to get a closer look, you would have to move southwest,...
The north wall of the cave is a maze of 3' round tunnels. The rough, irregular tunnels were crudely made by hands or claws, not by a miner's pick or shovel. The spiders abandoned their prey at the spot marked * as they fled to the west. The silk cocoon outlines a shaggy white quadraped, the size of ...
Round 1 Another volley of slingstones! Dougal, Robur, and Willie badly wound glowing Spider #2, and then Dame Simonetta knocks it dead. Spiders #3 and #4 were not affected by the Faerie Fire spell Beppo, Bilfur, Douglas, Fiona, and Ginger concentrate their fire on Spider #3, badly wounding it. The ...
