Re: Status of Development

Hey there pvoce, Thanks for your interest in DD and welcome to the forum :) A couple of brief answers for you: Yes, DD5 is still in development albeit it has been slowed mightily by life circumstances. That is: I'm just a regular guy, getting slain every day at my day job, raising a family, and tryi...

The Delving Deeper Companion

Check out the recently arrived Delving Deeper Companion by Joshua Koed. It's 138 pages of goodness extending and complimenting the Delving Deeper Reference Rules Compendium, illustrated by Carlos Castilho. The Table of Contents has: Definitions Player Class and Race Options Skills and Professions Ne...

Re: Publishing Delving Deeper related material

Hi Josh, Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your interest in supporting DD. It's great to hear about your DD-related works, and the first thing I would suggest is that we arrange between us for a link to your materials from here, or even distributing (a copy of) your materials directly from the DD...

Re: V5 in Development

So, one thing that seems unwieldily is this example given in Compleat-Chainmail pg19: A Warrior [OD&D Level 2] (as Heavy Foot) fights three Men (as Armored Foot). The Warrior rolls on the Combat Tables as two men, with a +1 bonus to one of the dice. Thus, he rolls two dice, with a +1 bonus to o...

Re: V5 in Development

Yeah, I have consulted extensively with Dan (Aldaron) about his CM booklet, and also about very many areas of the DD5 rules. He has impressive historical knowledge especially of Blackmoor and Arneson's group, and has been a great reviewer. re CM Wizards, yes, they are no slouch in combat. Remember t...

Re: V5 in Development

Thanks kenbirdwell . There are a couple of relevant parts to this. Firstly, DD must differ from the original to be considered a work of original authorship rather than a copyright infringement. Secondly, DD5 is still a work in progress so nothing therein is absolutely final yet, and yes, there has b...

Re: V4 fighter errata

Thanks kenbirdwell . I'm glad you like V5 so far. You can post further V5 questions over in the V5 development topic . FWIW, V5 has been on pause for a few years while I work on other things, but now there is only one year left to get it done before 2024, so I really do need to "turn in on"...

Re: V4 fighter errata

Hi kenbirdwell thanks for you interest in DD! And thanks mushgnome for your reply already. V4 was published in 2014 so it's inevitably beginning to show its age... Scratching the memory archives, I think there were three versions of V4. The first one was just "V4", then there was an errata...

Re: Fights so far...

Yep, there are a bunch of other factors in a proper dungeon crawl scenario.

One of them would be: going up against a dozen normal types without a sleep bomb to throw at them :)

Fights so far...

Looks like the monsters are taking a beating. So far, the score is 4:0. Is there any legit dungeon fight a fully loaded player party can't win? Sleep does the crowd control thing when there are lots of normals. And if there is one big bad monster, it tends to get ganged up on by many players. So the...
