Gerar rises to his wobbly legs and crosses the precarious bridge uncertainly. It looks to be a long way down into the dark to either side!

By the time he reaches the opposite side he can hear a great clamour of approaching feet and argumentative voices. Goblins, if he must presume.

At the opposite side there is a narrow ledge running along the cliff-face. Immediately before him a broad and ancient arch way opens, double width, into an interior chamber with several more arches leading into who knows what dark places? It is from this general direction that the goblins seem to be coming.

Glancing quickly left and right, Gerar sees the ledge runs some 80ft or so to the left before curving past another arch. To the right it curves, quite visibly, for some way, passing a number of narrower, less well built openings.

"This way, Maggot," chirps a voice, and Gerar sees the imp peering out of the nearest arch along the ledge to his left. "Hide, quick,", it says, before vanishing inside.

Whom ever approaches will burst into the room imminently!

Let us suppose that Gerar gathered his wits in time and made a dash for the imp's doorway, and hid himself there just in the nick of time...

Not a moment after he hides himself, Gerar hears the goblins squealing and yapping as a gang of them charge across the narrow bridge he navigated only moments before, and flock to the steel drum he fell to.

If it weren't for the imp, Gerar would be at the goblin's mercy!

What now?

(OOC - Sorry for the prolonged absence; suffice to say I have averted a crisis)

Gerar, increasingly worried, whispers to the imp: "Wh - who are you? Where are we? Where do I find Schosenboom's reagents?"

Gerar's question goes unanswered... the irritating little imp has vanished again. Who know's if it will be back?

Meanwhile, the goblins are kicking up a real noise, as they swarm over the empty iron bin... they seem to be quite displeased to find it empty.

What ever shall Gerar do?

Gerar remains hidden in the darkness... after quite a long while the goblins fall to bickering and begin to troop back toward wherever they came from, disappointed to have missed out on their prize.

Gerar is left alone in the quiet dark. What to do?

He steps out back along the ledge and ducks into the nearest archway.
