That was Percy; he vanished on his own errands in Ket a while back...

Gustave scratches absently at his shapely chin, musing the obscure ways of elves (one of whom sits rocking back and forth and mumbling to himself while the other drifts around peering into flowers).

A rumbling in his belly rouses him from idle ponderings and he has a sudden inspriation. Sorting through the various recent recruits, he spies the hobbit Rufus.

"Dear chap", he says by way of greeting, "I hear your are a relative of our lost little chef Wibert. Perchance, do you share his outstanding capacity to manufacture tasty soups from next to nothing?"

Dorgan isn't much of a hunter so he'll gather firewood. He will stay within earshot of the camp if at all possible.

"Yes Wibert and I did a bit of cooking together, but I think you will find my taste is food is more sweeter than Wibert's taste," replies Rufus. "Come with me to gather some herbs and mushrooms and I will make up a sweet tasting stew with the game you find", orders Rufus and soff to look around the area waving his hand to to the others to come along. "And get a fire going before we get back, unless you like your food rare", laughs the hobbit.

The hunters and gatherers head out while the remainder establish a neat little campsite by the brook, except Ulric who buries his nose in a book while the light lasts... Given the a party of over a dozen, the camp is not earnestly "little".

(dice are rolled for the hunters 3d6=6,1,2) Without proper traps or good time to find the most populous warrens and animal paths of these parts the hunting is a little leaner than you would have liked, but two rabbits are bought down (at a cost of (2d6=5) 5 of Olaf's arrows), and a third is caught in a snare comprised of Guntram's bootlaces.

Dorgan locates two heaped armfuls of kindle and firewood, and Rufus (1d6=1) doesn't truthfully know the difference between a herb and a weed, and returns to camp with a dubious elbow crook of leaves and flowers.

Nobody has a proper cook pot in which to do a soup, and nobody wants to ruin their helmet. So the rabbits are skinned, gutted, spitted and roasted over the camp fire. Despite the small portion of fresh meat, they make a delicious supplement to the otherwise dry rations.

(With the additional victuals on hand, only half a day of iron rations are consumed today.)

What watch will be set?

(Remembering, of course, that anyone who takes a watch will not be considered "rested", and hence will not recover lost hit points).
