Mads the Fair

Mads will gather up some twigs, dirt, and leaves and stash a score of his arrows away. While near the campsite, he hopes that they'll go unnoticed. If there's a small brush or shrub nearby, that would be his first choice for hiding them.

He'll equip his bow for the trip as his primary weapon, switching to the cold iron war-axe if forced into melee. Turning to Ulric, he says "Well, that's why we're here. Ready when everyone else is."

Olaf has his bow out and his arrows at his belt. He will switch to his sword and shield when opponents draw near, but hopes to get in a few shots from range first.

"Same marching order today as yesterday?" Olaf asks as he munches on a piece of beef jerky and takes a sip or two of water from his skin, "I think we might be seeing more of those Goblins, so let's stay watchful. We can't afford to be ambushed."

"Everyone ready to march?" and when everyone is, we do.

Oh, and there's Taines to be added. Let's put him on the second row in overland marching order.

One more thing, to think about is load. Caine was overloaded yesterday and tired. If I remember correctly, Dieter could take some of Caine's load without trouble. That way we'd all be fresher when we get to the ruins. How does that sound?

Well, now that Dieter is all worn out from tent pole duty, I'm not so sure...

(Just that famous German sense of humor.)

Sure, Dieter can carry a bunch of stuff. He's really strong.

"Have, you been out here prospecting long?" Olaf asks over his shoulder as he takes his place in front of Taines in the order of march.

"I'm pretty new to this area, Taines...as are all the rest of us, I think." Olaf says, "So, any information you could share with us would be useful."

Mads stashes a score of arrows in the brush near the camp site, while Dieter easily shoulders Caine's additional gear.

Like the rest of you, Taines is a relative new comer to the region, and says so as you all continue to march southward.

Very shortly you pass the site of last evening's battle, and see that the corpses have been mauled and gnawed by animals during the night... a rather grisly way to go. You hurry on by.

Despite his stout stature, Taines seems easily able to keep up a steady march and you make good time. By mid-morning the drizzle eases, and you can clearly see the ruins ahead. At this pace, you figure you should make them before noon.

As you drawn yet closer, Anwyn moves ahead to the crest the next rise, and catches sight of several figures sheltering in the ruins. Perhaps they are the Hobgobins who retreated the evening before? But there may be more of them... it is difficult to assess their numbers from here, as they appear to be skulking in the shadows.

The ruins themselves are quite low, and barely resemble the square, two towered keep they once must have been.

The ruins are but a ten minute march away. You are concealed from sight behind the nearest ridge.
