Very good.

The company collectively pony up the necessary "security" of 500 silver shillings, the Resplendent Scepter, The Innocent Opus, and Ulric's potion. Several of the Sisters efficiently squirrel all this away in a serious looking lock box, and pitter-patter back to the great hall with it.

Olaf is shut in the great hall with the Mother Superior and more nuns than even a hale man could handle, and, after much preparation and chanting, the Holy Absolution is begun, and he soon passes from consciousness...

Meanwhile, upstairs now, the rest of the company discuss what is to be done about restoring Olaf, and their security fund.

It seems there is a split vote.

Dieter, Olaf (in absentee), and Desmond vote to head directly for the abbey at first light to complete the Mother's mission.

Ulric, Dorgan, and Josiane seem to believe that there must be buried treasure somewhere below the manse, and that it could be excavated and used to then fund the abbey mission.

Highbough, Guntrum and Gustave are yet to cast any opinion.

(As far as funding any possible expedition goes, the company collectively has something like 700 silver shillings after paying the Mother Superior's security.)

OOC: Actually Ulric was thinking more of making sure that the manse was secure for their week-long absence; although there is certainly something in those boxes and crates in the cellar.

Desmond could quite easily be swayed to first clear out/loot the secret spaces underneath the manse before going to the abbey, especially since Olaf has received at least a partial cure and if he does not appear to be in immediate danger of succumbing to the wounds any time soon.

"If we do start with our beloved cellar, does anyone know anything about whether or not those critters we saw in the holes might be poisonous? If so, should we first acquire some antidote, if at all possible?"

Olaf is incapacitated and unavailable until tomorrow morning, at which time he will awake as a veteran (2nd level fighter).

So any basement delving this side of sun-rise will be sans Olaf.

"I am quite interested in this 'cellar' myself", says Gustave, picking grit from under a fingernail with the tip of his sword, "You didnt perchance catch a glimpse of any bottles down there did you? Say, corked, labelled, arrayed in shelves..."

Highbough's absentee vote is cellar first. (In the morning when Olaf is relatively healthy.)

Very good. With Highbough and Gustave's votes, it appears that the company is intent upon exploring the secret tunnels beneath the manse.

Any exploration will have to wait until the morning in order for Olaf to participate, and also to gain access to the secret passage, which can only be entered from the fireplace in the great hall. And right now, the great hall is filled mumbling nuns.

That leaves a couple of hours to purchase any last moment supplies before sundown.

Please post here whatever you wish to purchase (or have the Goblin staff purchase for you). I will start the new adventure thread tomorrow

Ulric purchases 2 flasks of oil (2 sp).

He will memorize The Word of Anthracite Sufferance, The Trammel, The Infinitesimal Summons, and The Benumbed Cincture for the cellar delve.
