Having been summarily excused from the kitchen by the holy crone, Gustave suddenly develops a deep religious pain in his chest, and goes seeking Sister Margarette to see if she can do anything about it.

Josiane hovers nervously outside the closed door, adding her humble prayers to whatever ritual is about to take place.

Until she sees what Gustave is up to. Whereupon she shadows him like a hawk.

Trying to be useful, and avoid any direct interactions with the remaining sisters that might result in discussion of certain double-headed issues, Desmond follows Ulric to help search Pel's old room.

While the Sisters prepare the great hall and Olaf for the night's ritual, Ulric and Desmond head upstairs and investigate Pelenwin's former room.

The place is cool and stark, containing only a rude pallet for a bed, and an old straw mattress -- which, frankly, doesn't smell too good. However, it doesn't take Desmond too long to find the only possession which Pelenwin deemed too valuable to take with him dungeoneering...

Under the old mattress is a waxed satchel which contains a glorious tome. It is The Innocent Opus, being merely an abridged part of Seyal's Testament. It is a white leather bound tome of portents and libations is intended for the travelling faithful while away from the Temple. Its prayers and contemplations appear to Ulric to be penned in the Historic script, though he can make little sense of its meaning a first glance.

Gustave strides about searching for the lovely Sister Margarette, but alas! The beautiful little creature cannot be found... she is remains behind closed doors in the great hall, lavishing young Olaf with her concern.

The luck of young fools!

Gentlefolk, unless I hear specifics from individuals, I will assume that everyone surrenders half the coin they have, The Resplendent Scepter, The Innocent Opus, and Ulric's Potion.

For this security the Mother Superior will commence the Holy Absolution, restoring Olaf to 2nd level by morning.

The goodies will be returned to you, and Olaf restored to 3rd level, once the Abbey mission is satisfactorily completed.

Yah, works for Desmond. His next vote is to attend the abbey business and get Olaf back to full strength as quickly as possible.

Ulric turns the pages of Pelenwin's book, his eyes wide. He studies the passages carefully but eventually closes it, knowing that he will have more time later.

"I think we should take this time to explore our cellar," he says to the other. "I'd like to be sure that our home is secure before we leave it again. Tomorrow we should prepare for our journey to the abbey. We'll need a few guards to leave here, a few porters to travel with us, and supplies: rations, torches, oil, rope, arrows. Let's not find ourselves lacking again."

OOC: I'm ok with the security. Grumble, grumble.

Josiane is understandably all for the holy quest, but she is also completely without coin to equip herself for such an undertaking. The cellars beneath seems the best place to acquire that and she is happy to be part of an expedition to clear the cellars, leading as it will to a greater good.
