The passage is pitch dark, but Ulric judges it to be some 30 or 40 yards long from memory. He would only have to go 10 or so yards up the passage in order to magik the ante-chamber.danhem wrote:OOC: How long is the corridor. How far would Ulric need to go to be able to toss a fireball into the ante-chamber ahead of our entry?
"I think it's the light of the scepter that these creatures hate. Not the light from a fire. " Olaf says holding out his hand to take the scepter, "I'll extinguish the light of the scepter."doctorx wrote:Josiane holds up her hand to bring the company to a halt while Ulric makes his calculations. She looks into the darkness ahead until her eyes ache, strains her ears for the slightest sound and gauges the temperature as best she may. As cold as the vault behind them? Less? Moreso?
She will take advantage of this pause to sheathe her sword and light the last of her torches. "My hope is that my prayer may have driven the fiend back to its tomb, but if aught awaits us ahead our best chance lies in magic and fire."
She frowns; "Although it seems these things are drawn to strong light, seeking to extinguish it. We had lit many torches in the antechamber ere the foe appeared, and remember their focussing of their malice on Lord Olaf".
She casts a glance at Desmond/Mondes.
"Perhaps we might dispense with the light of the sceptre for a while."
