"Hidden behind two secret doors, it seems likely this room must serve some purpose," speculates Golguldir quietly. "I'd guess this mirror is it the heart of it..." He waits across the room to see what, if anything, happens when Serech looks into the mirror, and is careful not to look into it himself for now...

| It might be a teleport, or a healing mirror, or something nasty... :) |

"Pish! "Tis but a looking glass, though an uncommonly large and ugly one."

Catweazle will try to look behind the mirror if possible, or determine how it is mounted.

Sigmund will stay near in case anything untoward comes out of the mirror, or some other disaster related to it strikes.

Serech looks into the mirror, and all he can see is the room behind him. He does not see his reflection, or that of anybody else in the room

Catweazle sees that the mirror seems to be flush with the wall, with no apparent mounting

"Has anyone touched the mirror, at all?" Rhod asks. "Only it might be that which activates it, presuming it's magic to begin with."

If there is no reflection, why do we assume it is a mirror at all? Asks Golguldir. Is it not simply a portal thru to another room, arranged as the exact reverse of the one we are in? Perhaps someone should toss a torch into younder room...

"Good idea!" Rhod says, setting down his bow and arrow and getting out a torch and his tinderbox. Presuming that doesn't cause anything to change, he'll go ahead and light the torch and toss it through.

He'll be kneeling as he does, though, and ready to snatch up his bow at the slightest need.

The torch hits the ?mirror? , bounces off, and falls to the ground. You notice that the torch did not appear in the mirror either

Golguldir looks about to verify that his fellow adventurers are indeed visible.

Then he looks carefully about the room and into the mirror to ascertain that what is reflected upon the looking glass is indeed a true reflection.

This is curious indeed, he mutters to himself, then speculates more broadly: Perhaps this is a reflection of what was here some time in the past? Somebody please lift a flagstone that is visible here in this glass.

Then, while he waits for someone to do that, he addresses the mirror:
Mirror, mirror, on the wall; who is the fairest of them all?

"I'd be happy to lift a flagstone," Rhod says. "Does anybody have a crowbar about them?"
