Ardenbard takes the weighty chalice and turns it over a few times in his hands.

It is clearly of Dwarf make, and doubtless some hundred years old. It was likely the Great Hall Cup belonging to one of the numerous mayors or burghers of the great city. It is not in perfect condition, having a reasonably serious dent in one side, and numerous scratches and other imperfections, and of course the missing stones.

Still, it would be a prize find for anyone studying the history of Moria, and certainly of special value to the Dwarfs themselves.

Ardenbard would not be surprised to see three or four hundred shillings for the cup, perhaps more if the right buyer could be located.

Eremin makes a mental note of the color/size/shape of the stones remaining in the cup. We might get lucky and find more, which can then be replaced.

I'll be much more valuable whole.

"Come, let us move on from this stinking place."

Now well rested (as he stood watch during the break at the top of the stairs), and with a little bit of trail food in his stomach, Norin accepts the proffered chalice with raised eye brows.

"Aye, that's a beaut right there," he mumbles to himself as he admires the craftsmanship.

He narrows his eyes at Arbenbard at the suggestion of a toast and all drinking from the finely crafted chalice. Three seconds... five seconds... ten seconds of contemplative staring and then...

Norin's head slowly nods up and down and the hint of a smile can be seen through his great beard.

"Aye, that sounds like a grand idea!" he laughs. He reaches down for his wine skin and, remembering he'd decided to carry water instead of wine, mutters a curse only Sili can understand.

"Alas... I have nothing suitable for such a grand vessel."

Lmluin takes a moment to examine the coins more closely. Does it look as if they might be valueable enough to take the time and trouble to sift them from the rest of the debris?

Norin nods at Lady ‰ohild's suggestion and packs the chalice safely away in his backpack.

"Let's move on and see what else we can find down this hallway."

He stands and hefts his warhammer once more, making sure the rest of the party is ready before heading back into the main hall.
