Dieter stays well back from the trap door he fell through last time. He'll cover the little guy as best he can, and also keep his eyes and ears open for anything untoward.

| Hmm, yes, another trip to the shadow pit could be... bad. |

"Mind The Gap," Desmond utters in a monotone voice, pointing at the broken section of floor with his sword as the others make their way into the hallway with the carved wolf relief. "And the trap door, as well, I suppose," he adds with a shrug.

Once the other three are safely on the correct side of the hallway | (the left side, is it?) |, Desmond moves around the bend in the hallway, again checking for tripwires and more pit traps as he goes. If he can tell where to walk by studying footprints or disturbances in the dirt on the floor, he will use that to aid him in avoiding any further nasty traps.

| So as to not slow down progress by stopping at each turn in the hallway, the above directions (moving ahead, checking for traps or danger, making sure the others aren't left in the dark) will stand until he spots something notable or the hallway splits directions. |

Wen would be looking for sconces or ledges where he could place candles as they pass. Better to have the back trail illuminated should we have to flee.

[p Halfling, leather, short sword, main gauche,9,12/12]Desmond/Mondes[/p] leads the way around the U bend, eyeing the floor suspiciously, while [p Elf,leather+helm,hand,hand,12,7/8]Wen[/p] searches for like places to lodge torches or candles. There are sconces in the passage that would hold torches, or else he could stand candles on the floor.

[p Man,mail+helm,sword,shield,9,16/16]Dieter[/p] follows [p Halfling,leather,short sword,main gauche,9,12/12]Desmond/Mondes[/p] at half a dozen paces, and [p Young Man,leather+helm,sword,shield,12,14/14]Olaf[/p] has the rear guard.

[p Halfling, leather, short sword, main gauche,9,12/12]Desmond/Mondes[/p] sees that, after doubling back upon itself, the passage then turn left through an open arch and into a larger, unlit, space... by the movement of sound and the feel of the air, he gets a sense that it is a larger chamber. All is silent and dark.

Desmond steps into the room once the other three are ready behind him.

[p Halfling, leather, short sword, main gauche,9,12/12]Desmond/Mondes[/p] steps into the new chamber as [p Elf,leather+helm,hand,hand,12,7/8]Wen[/p] cast light into it over his shoulder.

It is a long, 30ft wide hall. There are wolfish carvings in bass relief within a 3ft tall band along the walls, but the main feature of the room which immediately captures everyone's attention is an 8ft high stone ring that stands balanced upon a broad dais at the opposite end of the room. The floor in front of it is raised so that a 10ft long stone ramp leads up to the stone circle.

Desmond eyes the stone circle in silent awe for a brief moment, his mind running through all they know about the wolf priests and their pets and where they came from and how they left.

And he wonders if there is another stone circle somewhere, in a place just like this hallway, where they'll find their friend if they step into this one.

He finally finds his voice, but all he can manage is, "Bugger..."

"Couldn't have said it better myself," Dieter says.

He draws his new sword (OOC: That's assuming it had a scabbard, or I found one that fit it) and takes one step into the room, off to the right of Desmond.

(Further OOC: Does this sword glow when wielded? I know that some do, but I wasn't sure if this was one of that sort.)

Wen would look around to and place some more torches to free he hands. "Do you suppose it safe to approach Desmond? Perhaps there is an aura of magic upon I can feel or writings that might give us a clue."
