Very well that party walks down the right hand passage, the smell becomes stronger and more unpleasent.

You can see light as you enter a very large cavern, it is at least 150feet in diameter, there is a central fire pit with several fissure above that act as chimney. There is a fire going and and several long spits, on which goblin corpses are being turned by 2 gnolls. It takes only a moment for both side to spot the other. In total there are 4 gnolls, 2 cooking and 2 rummaging around the cavern.

Barking voices ring out, those that speak gnoll hear and jubilant cry about fresh meat!

Battle is joined.....

Urist holds back to let Alrik cast his spell. His warhammer is at the ready in case any of the creatures resist the color spray.

Rhegaer holds on throwing his spear until the magician is done plying his skills.

Round 1:

Action Alrik leaps forward to cast Color Spray, Rheagar is ready with his spear as is Urist with Hammer. The others are filtering into the cavern and spreading out.

Init:
Gnolls: mgt's roll comes to 2 [2 on 1d6]
Party: mgt.'s roll comes to 1 [1 on 1d6]

The gnolls all stop what they are doing and react. The two closet are on the group so fast Alrik does not have a change to get his spell off at the front most gnolls. Rhegaer (+1 Init) manages to engage with his spear before the Wizard is bludged.

Rhegaer vs Gnoll
mgt's roll comes to 7 [7 on 1d20] - MISS

Gnoll vs Rhegaer
mgt's roll comes to 18 [18 on 1d20] - HIT
mgt's roll comes to 5 [5 on 1d6] - Rhegaer takes a brutal hit from a spiked club. The tough warrior still stands.

Gnoll vs Urist
mgt's roll comes to 15 [15 on 1d20] - HIT
mgt's roll comes to 6 [6 on 1d6] - Urist also takes a savage blow from a Gnoll.

The two "cooking" gnolls move into melee range next round.

Urist vs Gnoll
mgt's roll comes to 10 [10 on 1d20] - MISS

Alrik step around Rhegaer and casts Color Spray at the 2 charging Gnolls
mgt's roll comes to 6 [5 on 1d6 +1]
Both Gnolls fall to ground dazzled by Alrik's spell

Coln and Phadian move into Melee range.

If Rhegaer has time to act first, he sets his spear if the two remaining gnolls look like they are going to charge into the fight. Otherwise, he fights normally, attempting to impale one of the gnolls on his spear.

Rhegaer is engage is hand to hand with a Gnoll. Spear vs Spiked Club, to the death! (Alrik took care of the charging gnolls)

"Ouch!" grunts Urist as he absorbs a blow strong enough to kill most. He figures the best defense is a strong offense, and keeps swinging his hammer at the threatening gnoll...
