"Well that was strange, and could have been far worse I guess. Still did we learn anything useful? What do you make of that sign? Alcazar 74 that doesn't mean anything to me." Wen take a seat on ground to recover from the feelings of being a ping-pong ball. "The spirit of that place is certainly powerful, I can see why you did not chooses to enter Gallaine, do you wish to hear what happened?"

"Lady Gallaine, do you know the meaning of 'Alcazar 47?" queries Highbough.

"What the spirits share, if anything, should be taken cautiously," Gallaine advises, "Some of it may have been or may come to pass, but much of it is merely possible... you must judge wisely."

"These things you name may have some meaning..."
she says thoughtfully. Being of the older generation of Elves, Highbough recalls some of the distant mythology, and is inclinded to agree.

Gallaine continues: "In the mythic past when Men were new and even Elves were young, the world was at war with a terrible foe which we now know only as The Enemy. From songs and poems we remember an alliance was forged with Men and the great heroes of both led their last armies to battle The Enemy on their own doorstep. Their fortresses were called Alcazars. In the respite caused by this crusade, the gates between worlds were cast down, and forever sealed by the highest sorcery. The linchpin of which is said to be The Seal of Seyal. Today, as we know, there is a Knightly Order of Men charged with protecting such a thing; the so-called Knights of the Seal."

"But come, it is late. Let us return to the Watch before nightfall!"

"Oh... Alcazar!" patronizes Highbough. "It means 'keep' or 'fortress.' I knew that, just testing you young ones."

"Where was this Alcazar, this fortress where the battle was fought? I suspect what was shown, happened, and perhaps the ruins of the battle field still hides secrets even today." Wen would say. "But yes let us return, there is nothing more to be learned."

After some discussion of what may or may not have been learned, Gallaine teleports you all back to the watch-tree in Southwatch--whump!--just in time for the evening meal.

Please return to thread 055.
