Led by Pelenwin and Olaf (with the eerie blue-white light from his scepter), the company make their way back down the narrow passage into the chamber with the closed gate and weapon rack, and from there up the steep, stone stair to the ground level. From the landing there is an open door-arch leading directly into the mess hall (at the far end from the kitchen)...
