KOCH takes up the empty bottle and stores it in his pack in hopes that at some point soon he can use it to collect some water. He then takes his shield in his left hand and the torch in his right.

KOCH walks over to Nidhogg and with a low, almost wondrous voice says, "I've always wanted to see what was down this long room. Lead the way Nidhogg, I trust your dwarven eyes and instincts would be better than mine in this type of environment."

KOCH walks a step beside and slightly behind Nidhogg, with his eyes scanning the floors and walls and ears listening for any sound.

OOC: I have not yet had a chance to update my character sheet, I hope to do so later tonight. Speaking of which, there was no mention of KOCH's 8 torches in the previous equipment post, are they gone as well?

Alas, they are missing also (I've updated the previous post).

On the upside, Koch is freed, and not encumbered by his travelling gear.

As Koch brings up the sputtering torch, the two of them see that old, dusty crates are piled high toward the rear of the cellar, in some semblance of a wall -- but the arrangement doesn't feel right to Nidhogg, and he suspects that the space continues beyond that feeble facade.

KOCH gives a surprised start seeing the dwarf so casually start to climb the crates.

KOCH places down his shield and opens up one of the crates to see what is inside.

The crates are variously proportioned, with many being approximately 2ft wide. They are, in the main, of sturdy timber, and covered in ages of dust and cobwebs.

Nidhogg clambers to a height of several crates, from where he could look over Koch's head. However, the "wall" becomes steep and precarious indeed, and the Dwarf settles for hefting a few crates aside rather than risking an awkward fall. Even this much allows him to see that there is a deeper dark of another passage-way concealed beyond the pile of old boxes...

Several times he glimpses timid rats darting into the labyrinth of cracks and crevices between the old boxes, but nothing of any value does he spy.
