Re: 08 - Tor-Xonor: Sailing the Dark Waters

In hushed tones the party decides upon a plan of action. Phadian snuffs the lantern and the cavern grows darker. You can see the little lights clearly and further in the cavern you see others as well. After a moment or two there are several giggling laughs and soft high pitched voices seems to be speaking to each other. More lights gather, more voices, more giggles. One voice raises above the soft murmurs it speaks in Elven

"We know not who you are so we have summoned the Minstrel from his Gallery, he will decide what is best."

Urist doesn't talk Elf, so he is dumbfounded by the cooing sounds. He places one hand on Squishy's scruff so the dog doesn't do anything impulsive.

Alrik listens and replies in Elvish. "I am Alrik, slayer of Illmir, and these are my fellow adventurers, in search of the evil denizens that seem to inhabit the caves of Tor Xenor. Who are you and what is this place?"

Re: 08 - Tor-Xonor: Sailing the Dark Waters

There is some confusion in the party as Arik steps forward speaks. Alrik hears some laughing voices after he speaks. The chatter away in Elvish clearly for your benefit

"Hehehe see they can speak I told you, you own me 3 drops of morning dew."
"Aww I thought they where simpletons, rimbletons, dimple kin, now what should we do to em"
"Nothing and nothing, you let the master handle this."
"Yes, Yes, the he will sing em to sleep, or cast em deep, or make them leap. Heheheh"
"hehehe"

They do not however seem to answer your questions...

Meanwhile in the distance you see more small lights approaching. Suddenly the darkness rolls away like the morning mists and you can all see clearly. What you see can best described as a forest glade with light streaming down from all directions. Then the music starts, flute and drum, harp and cymbal a compelling melody draws you into this vibrant moment. It's a startling change from the dark water filled tunnels behind you.

Rhegaer shakes his head in disbelief, "What in the seven hells is going on here?" His knuckles turn white as he grips his axe in fear.

Re: 08 - Tor-Xonor: Sailing the Dark Waters

As the music draws on you hear a voice raised above the others singing in the common tongue of the realms.

"Oh travelers ragged and weary, why have pierced the veil of the night?"

"Or heroes, perhaps, you think to survive the cave of lights?"
