Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

Everyone except Shoul and Mule go to the cave......

The party makes their way back up the hill giving the Dragon's bones a wide berth. At the threshold of the cave you pause and light a torch and give it to Rik. He gulps but takes up his duty as torchbearer. "Umm if I die please make sure my wife is provided for."

With out any further drama the party enters, the cavern slopes downward almost at once, the grade is a good 5-6% and travels hundreds of feet. Along the way you notice lots of tracks just as you did at the entrance. Eventually the cavern opens up into a natural underground lake. The beach that you come out on is well used by animals and others for freshwater apparently.

As you stand along the beach you notice lights spring up in the deeper parts of the cavern. It is strange sight, the lake, the lights, the caverns....

Urist Stonechapel lets out an impressed whistle and then spends several long moments in speechless awe. "Now that, Squishy, is a cavern!" are the most poetic words he can muster.

Alrik looks around for any sign of exit via dry land.

"Looks like we may need a boat to go much further."

Rhegaer nods in agreement. "That water'll be real cold."

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

A careful look around reveals no other exits on the beach. During the time spent searching you see the lights wink out and come back in different areas. As if some complicated dancing is in progress. What strangeness is this?

Phadian

"What sorcery is this? It will require more preparation to investigate this area. I suggest we adjourn to camp. With one more nights rest we will be at full strength. I suggest we should complete clearing the original cave in the morning before we improvise a boat to explore this."

Rhegaer agrees with this suggestion, turning to return to the surface to head back to camp.

"I've half a mind to swim out for a closer look, but I shudder to think what might lurk beneath that water," says Urist. "Back to camp, then!"

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

So the party turns back on the Cave of Lights and decides to call it a day. The walk back to camp is without incident....

Any other action to prep before the dreaded nighttime encounter roll?

Phadian

Before bedtime Phadian casts his cure light wounds on himself to hopefully restore himself to full health.
