Re: Out Of Character

As we have only seven active PCs and tonneau is ready to go, Urtzil will be joining in shortly...

Re: Out Of Character

Ways, can you clarify the rules on burning oil as a missile weapon?

Can you light a flask of oil and then throw it? Or do you need to throw it and then follow with a lit torch?

You can create a Molotov-cocktail type missile if desired.
You'd need to un-stop your oil flask, spill some oil over the flask, ignite it with an open flame, and then cast it up to 3" range.

If targeting a man-type, a direct hit vs AC 7 would ignite him for 1-6 damage per turn for two turns (unless extinguished sooner).

If targetting a ground area, it would cause a splash effect throughout a 10ft square area that would require a save vs. breath weapon to avoid 1-6 points of damage (once only). There might potentially be 2 men within in a 10ft square, or even more smaller types.

Can Sullivus shutter his lantern or does he have to put the flame out to darken it?

Let's assume it has a lantern hood which can be pulled over it without extinguishing the flame.

Re: Out Of Character

I wanted Vergas to scream "I hit it with my axe!" but then I realized that for once I am not playing a dwarf... :D

Re: Out Of Character

It's going as well as can be expected for a first-level character... It's always a toss-up, you either run from everything (in this case back to the camp, lol) and are unlikely to level up, or you try your best to get a few hits in before you get dealt the blow that requires running away. I opted for the latter.

Re: Out Of Character

Well, now that we're almost all said and done with the leeches, I will offer up some futile advise :D

Given giant leeches can move only 3" out of water, it would have been a good strategy to stay out of their reach and kill them off with missiles and/or burning oil without any risk to one's self. But it was not to be!
