My apologies, I had forgotten to post the details of the gruesome scavenging. The filthy pile of dead and dying Orcs were searched by moonlight. Some took undue pleasure in tormenting those that lingered... others ended them more efficiently.
Throughout the scabby pokes and packs, grimy sling-bags and gore-stained purses the Orcs had among them...
40 silver pennies minted in Dunland, 5 silver pennies of Dwarf make, and 600 copper pennies of various origins; mostly Dunland, Rohan, and the North.
A surprising collection of hardwares including; wire, pliers, hinges, rivets, buckles, belts, rope, tack, nails, hammers, screws, horse-shoes, chisels and stakes; the consumables being of Orcish manufacture, while the tools are mostly of ancient Dwarf make.
Also present are assorted chunks of a dark ore, which collectively amount to 2 stone in bulk. The Dwarves reckon it to be an iron ore of some sort, though Ardenbard is convinced it is not of the regular sort. Far too dark, he says.
The raiders carried with them a veritable banquet of edibles for the Orcish palate; sour onions, pickled lizards, chickens' feet, eye balls, hard grey bread, foul smelling cheeses, bitter Orcish drafts, and various strings of hard, salted meat of who knows what source?
And of course, their arms; black maces, axes and wide, curved swords in the main, as well as some crooked spears and daggers. A gruesome lot of gear to be sure, but worth near to 90 silver pennies by weight of metal. Selling such Orcish works will not be easy in Edhil, however. Perhaps in Dunland, where Men are said to be less scrupulous?
