Tirandir, †delwynn, and Mot can hardly believe their eyes as they eagerly talk of how they will divide the treasure up.

"Very well done indeed, chapsss," says Malaveque, who was ever lurking in the shadows behind them.

The three heroes hear Malaveque's scroll unravel, and turn about just in time to see him uttering it while the dangerous Lizardman guards him.

Malaveque's sleep spell goes off and the players tumble immediately into a slumber to dream of fabulous treasures unjustly stolen from them!

As we haven't heard from Rleduc for a good while, the referee decides to play Malaveque as a good and proper chaotic to close out the game ;D

Malaveque, the chaotic magic-user, sees the fabulous spoils and also that he has the upper hand. He is guarded by an indomitable Lizardman, he has a scroll of sleep, and his fellows are all on their last legs, and so he acts accordingly.

Malaveque instruct the Lizardman (in a whisper) to wake him should be fall asleep, then casts his sleep scroll at the PCs.

Rolling (3d6=6) †delwynn and Mot each soak 1 HD, Tirandir soaks 2, and the Lizardman requires 3 HD, so isn't affected, but Malaveque himself soaks 1 HD, and all the PCs fall asleep. The Lizardman promptly wakes Malaveque, who loots all the choicest treasure: The jewellery, gems, as well as the potion, scroll, and the wand. The lizard man lumbers the 10,000 gp for Malaveque.

Tirandir, †delwynn, and Mot awake some hours later as the first light of dawn falls into the lair from the swampy gap in the ceiling above. All are cold, stiff and grumpy from sleeping awkwardly on the damp, broken cobbles overnight.

They immediately note that Malaveque and the Lizardman are gone. Along with the pick of the treasure!

All that remains to them is 2,000 cp, 23,000 sp, and 6,000 gp. No doubt the treacherous elf couldn't carry any more!

But at least you have your lives, and that is something to be thankful for!

OOC: h for the day when Elves were immune to sleep ... If this was a continuing game obviously I'd go Malaveque hunting.

Thanks for the game.

Mot rubs his eyes, notes Malaveque and much of the treasure is gone, and says "It looks like our fellow wizard succumbed to the "dragon sickness" - no doubt it will be his undoing..."

He turns to the other party members, "Well, Dragonslayers, what say we gather up the remaining coin and get out of this hole?"

Tirandir would crack and smile at least and fill the sacks with gold!

OOC: Mot was awesomely lucky in that battle, I liked it! Even the end has a vancian feel to it. Yay!

"Retirement postponed, I fear," groans †delwynn, sitting up; "Ah, well..."

He proceeds to shovel all the gold he can carry into his backpack. He will also search the fallen for any scraps of magic they may have been carrying, quietly calculating how long it might be before the Charm spell wears off and Malaveque ends his days as lizard food...

Once this is achieved, up, out and straight for the nearest tavern!
