Turn 22 continues
The left fork leads to a small cavern with a passage to the southwest and a "tight squeeze" tunnel to the southeast. The floor is littered with rat droppings, and faint twittering sounds are heard from the southeastern squeeze.
The southwest passage is marked with bright chalk drawings (at the spot marked !!). They are a warning to unprepared Hobbetses: DUNGEON LEVEL 2

Willie peers at the chalk markings & peers down the south-west passage a bit.
"Well, 'Dungeon Level 2' sounds very exciting! But isn't it proper to do a good job on the first level of something before you move on to the second? I think that's what me Mam always said.

Dougal nods, "Agreed. Oh, wait... we've passed up two passages to the northwest. There was one just past the last secret door we went through and there is one right back there behind us." He points at the passage they just passed up. "Which one do you mean?"
