Wiglaff, intrigued by this riddle-making machine, edges out from his hiding place.

"Good job, Dougal!" he says, then waits to see what happens next.

Dougal speaks the correct answer and is rewarded by a "ding ding ding" sound from within the chest. Then he hears the distorted voices reply in unison: "TOMATO PASTE!" and then burst out laughing. The uproarious sounds of laughter continue for a short while, and then fade out.

Does Dougal continue pulling the chain?

Dougal pulls the chain.

Dougal pulls the 'PULL ME' tag as far as it will go, about 12 inches in total, until it reaches its limit. A soothing female voice calmly declares:

At the sound of the tone, please record your joke.

There is a 'beeeeeeep' tone from the chest, and then Dougal tells his joke.

The soothing female voice replies, "I don't know. Tell me," and then, surprisingly, switches to a crackly and distorted playback of Dougal's own voice! "What would bears be without bees?"

Then there is another 'beeeeeeeep' tone.

Willie, caught up in the excitement of the strange machine, loudly exclaims "Ears!" then bursts out laughing, tickled at the cleverness of the contraption. Then he hushes, to wait and see if he'll hear his own voice.
