Red Baron; your rolls:

3#(7#3d6):

9 15 12 7 8 8 10
8 13 12 16 12 10 13
11 6 11 7 5 9 9

11 12 9 8 11 10 13
I choose the second set of scores.
I choose to play a human, and assuming the switch-one-score-for-12 rule is still in play, will replace the 10 above with a 12.
I take 13 as starting coin (thus 130 silver pieces).

Behold, Brother Walfried, a middle-aged & highly-curmudgeonly crusader!
  Code:
Brother Walfried
Lawful Human Cleric (level 1)

Strength 11
Intelligence 12
Wisdom 17
Constitution 9
Dexterity 11
Charisma 6

Coin: 9 silver, 3 copper

Equipment:
ordinary clothing, a backpack, a bedroll, ordinary supplies (not rations) for one week, a water skin, and a coin purse
hooded cloak
torches, 6
cross of wood
plate armor, helmet, shield
warhammer

Load: 93
What say you?

There appear to be no active magic-users in the party, so I'll tentatively take up that role.

Red Baron; in the (simplified?) new scheme, the evil twin would invert all scores first, then select purse second. So I think the evil-M-U option would have 100 sp, rather than 110 sp?

Also consider that a chaotic M-U might just as easily sleep the players and cut their throats, as do the same to a bunch of goblins. Probably more profitable to take out the players too... :)

I leveled up a first level magic-user once in a one-shot, adventuring with some 3rd level characters, by reserving my sleep spell for the return journey from the dungeon and then absconding with the treasure.

I also remembered that I had another character ready next to Dopey, but I think I'll stick with the wizard.

Are intelligence languages added in addition to gothic and illiberal?

Would you allow a druid? I think you might have answered this already, but I can't recall where.

How much longer were you allowed to play with that group?

I still game with them from time to time, but both me and the referee are out of the country a lot.
