So we lost 1 Wizard 1 Cleric and 2 Fighters and have another Fighter who went inactive.... Seems like a Fighter type is in order...
Elf2 would be a good fighter/mage with Int and Dex bonuses. Dwarf would be a good fighter with HP bonus.

Re: Primordial Ooze...

After tinkering around I think this is what I'll play.

Elven Cleric / Lawful
  Code:
Str 9
Int 10
Wis 16
Con 11
Dex 8
Cha 9

Starting Purse: 7x10 = 70 sp

Languages: Elven, Common, Literate, Lawful, ???

Spells: ???

Where can I find out about Spells? Does a 1st level Cleric get any in the Hinterlands campaign?
[f=4]Manfreid the Fighter (MV 9", AC 3/5, HD 1+2, hp 10/10, FC Man+1, N) silver mail+helm, sword+shield[/f]

Nope. No clerical spells at first level. But you'd have a very nice 10% bonus for XP!

Re: Primordial Ooze...

I think Dwarf Fighter is going to be the thing.

Zem
Dwarf
Fighter
Lawful
Level: 1

St: 14
In: 12
Wi: 10
Cn: 14
Dx: 8
Ch: 7

Silver: 0

Equip:

Mail 30
Helm 10
Shield 10
WarAxe* 10

Waterskin 1
Backpack 3
Tinderbox 1
Torches 1
3 Days Rations 3

Background:

Zem is taciturn and stoic in typical dwarven fashion, his face craggy, his hair black. He bares a large scar across his left temple and he have crinkles when he squints. He chooses his words poorly and commonly alienates those who might be his friends. Most curious of all he is prone to make wild claims about his origins after several rounds of ale. These claims revolve around the fact that he is a prince of kingdom no one has ever heard of, set in land that is on no maps. Whether this is a delusion or alcohol induced madness no one can say but he is able to speak with authority about this dwarves kingdom of Aregoth, as he calls it. He will ramble on at length about his grandfather and father and their many works and the great vastness of their ancestral halls. If asked where they lie? He can not explain, he remembers being on a deep patrol beyond the lower gates of the Kingdom and then nothing... He found himself alone in the Hinterlands. Friendless, Godless, and lost.

Alas, by the book there are no Elvish clerics.
You could do a Human cleric, or there is a treble-classed Elvish F/M-U/C option (which is what heartless is about to play). I.e., Elves make sub-optimal clerics in OD&D.

No; clerics must do their penance in order to get a first taste of divinity at 2nd level :)

Re: Primordial Ooze...

Hum, okay...well I'm not wedded to playing a Cleric, but it looks like Wisdom is going to be my highest characteristic no matter what I do. How about?

Drakin Feldspar, Dwarven, Lawful Cleric
  Code:
Str 9
Int 8
Wis 15
Con 14
Dex 5
Cha 7

Purse: 7x10 = 70 sp
[/b]
He's clumsy, ugly, and not the sharpest brain, but he's brimming with godly wisdom, very hardy, and about average in strength.

Re: Primordial Ooze...

I'm not completely sure dwarven clerics are allowed as a PC class, Eris. The DD V4b rules state under the Dwarf race section that, "They are limited to 6th level as fighters..." but it doesn't say anything there or in the Cleric section about whether or not dwarfs can be clerics.

Under the House Rules section for the Hinterlands game, it says we're following the Greyhawk rules for multiclass and dual-class characters. I know the Dwarven fighter/cleric was only available to NPCs under the Greyhawk rules but, again, it doesn't specifically say anything for or against dwarf PCs taking the Cleric class.

WOTE will be able to sort that out, though...

Re: Primordial Ooze...

Excuse me if I LOL a bit. I can't seem to pick a valid character can I. :)

Well, what about a Man?

Str 9
Int 7
Wis 8
Con 15
Dex 12
Cha 9

Purse 50 sp

He'd be a fighter, one that specializes with bow, maybe. Average strength, dumb, unwise, very hardy, good dexterity, average charisma, and very poor.
