Re: (052) Reckoning the Abbey

Highbough calls softly to Wen in a soft Elfish whisper that sounds like gently-hooting owls: "Have the humanoids made up their mind yet? Are we going back to the forest?"

When the time cones, he will volunteer to invisibly scout a short distance ahead.

Wen idles around the chamber while the others inspect, prepare, hope and decide. When Highbough's voice drifts down from above Wen would smile and call back in Old Elvish "I believe they are almost ready, but Dieter and Gustave are debating the rules of their new Hobbit tossing game, once they've agreed I think we will move outside so they can get a better playing field."

Wen would look around the room one last time and then head up the stairs saying to Hobbits "Once we leave I will stay close, if you must be dropped I will try to lead you off to safety..." as he exits.

Re: (052) Reckoning the Abbey

Desmond sighs in resignation and allows The Gustav to hoist him onto his back (not carry him - he is blind, not an invalid), at least until they are clear of the buildings. If possible, he'd rather not have to be carried all the way back to their manse.

He is starting to be concerned with his temporary loss of sight...

Olaf is looking over his ruined mail and seeing if any of it can be saved. He will feel positively naked without it...and be a lot more vulnerable, too!

Re: (052) Reckoning the Abbey

Very well.

Upstairs, Olaf finds his mail is completely ruined and is feeling all the more vulnerable for it. Dorgan continues to poke about in the remains of the ooze, but doesn't located anything identifiable other than fat bilge piles of the gross phlegm (which sticks unnervingly to his bare-feet, but cause to further harm).

| I've updated the stats sheet to reflect Olaf's lack of armor... |

Downstairs Armando finds nothing untoward about the lockbox...it appears aged, but in well maintained order. There are some very worn etchings on the shiny metal about the lock, hardly visible at all. He doesn't doubt they are religious decorations of some sort.

Dieter arrives, and he and Gustave shoulder the hobbits, whose noggins are then nearer to the ceiling that would be ideal as the pair of fighters carry them out of the reliquary...

"Watch the heads," Desmond mutters as The Gustave only slightly ducks through the first doorway...

"Yes, well...now there are three to contend with" observes Gustave helpfully.

Armando unceremoniously shoves the box into a large sack and, taking one last look into the secret chamber, follows the others out of the reliquary.

This is exactly why Dieter planned to carry the hobbit(s), at least until we're up the stairs. Grinding their heads against the ceiling doesn't sound like it would cure their blindness.

Torben

Seeing his travel companion's obvious discomfort, he offers 'I have some rope left in my bag - once we clear the Abby, we could latch together like they do during expeditions in the North.' He thinks for a moment. 'Won't help much with rocks and roots...
