Zax ignores the grim chamber, marching right through it to pass about 20ft down the continuing tunnel which curves away to his left. The way ahead is unlit, and without torchlight he can't make out much more than a long dark tunnel. It don't smell nice though.

The Herald follows.

With more light brought up by The Herald, Zax can see there are a couple of doors off the right-hand side of the passage ahead. The first is barely 20ft further on, initially concealed because it set into a slight depression in the tunnel wall. The other one must be another 30-40ft beyond that, and apparently marks the end of the tunnel.

"What d'ya say god-hugger," says Zax, with a tip of his head "first doors good as any?"

He stomps over to the first door without waiting for a reply and casts a gnomish eye over the portal. If nothing is obviously awry, he opens it.

Leudigar stands behind the gnome, and before the Herald, sword and dirk at the ready.

"Open it already," he grunts.

Wetzel tries to keep his torch high as he can in his left hand, to offer his comrades light, with his spear in his right (alas, his shield was shattered in the last engagement).

Zax grunts and tries the door, but finds it is seized; it won't open lightly.

Zax puffs his moustache at the uncooperative portal. He ponders a more violent approach for a moment...
Does the door appear to open inward or outward? If it can appears it might be possible to force the door, he will attempt to do so. If not, he shrugs, and saunters over to the second portal

Zax ascertains that the door opens inwards... then puts his shoulder into it with a serious thud. Despite his considerable weight, the door scarcely seems to budge.
Door check: 1d6=2.
