Technically speaking, the "adventure" isn't over until you reach a safe haven. So... unless you are able to reach (or establish) a safe zone in the woods, we won't be switching back to town time until you reach Manfred's Bastion, the military camp you departed from. One strategy would be to attempt to minimise the number of monster checks between now and then...

Leudigar prepares to head out into the surface world, leading the others back to Manfred's camp.

It feels like it has been MONTHS since he breathed fresh air or spied the green of trees or the flight of a bird... but really it's probably been just a few days.

The company clamber up the twisting goblin stair to emerge, blinking, into the late afternoon sun atop the crater ridge. There is a cool breeze blowing; the air is so fresh on their faces it is like being sluiced in a cold mountain stream. It hardly takes a moment to recognise they are on the lonely goblin lookout trail that skirt the rim of the crater. They have a decent view across the crater interior, but the surrounding wilderness is obscured. Leudigar guesses there are perhaps 3-4 hours of daylight before dusk...

Leudigar leads them back to the hidden switchback goat trail that leads back up to the top of the crater, indicating that they have 3-4 hours to put some distance between them and the crater if they start now.

Leudigar leads the way back up the perilous goat track to the watch point along the crater rim. By the time everyone is safely up top, the day is getting late. There is a cool breeze huffing intermittently from the west as the burdened company gaze across the surrounding wilderness.

The crater rim continues to circle around behind them to the south and to the east; A few hundred yards to the east of their position is the main outward gate of the goblin fortress. More encouragingly, a patchwork of brown-green hills lie below them to the north and west. Somewhere out there, they know, lies the relatively safety of Manfred's camp. The trek out took three days of exploration, but that was without a heavy load of treasure. Getting back could take longer...
Right then; Map located (with some relief) after turning over half the house.

First turn of wilderness movement coming up. Which way?
