PLAYERS' SECOND ROUND
Boggs withdraws to join Faengol, and the injured Dopey and Fendrel in the rear ranks; leaving The Herald, Menno, Wetzel, Leudigar, Alfwin, Karl, and Gunter in the fighting.
As the non-players can handle five men on equal terms, and the players are seven men, two of them are able to flank. Gunt gave orderes to hold the line, and Herald, Wetzel, Karl, and Leudigar all want to target Thick-Neck. That leaves just Menno and Alfwin (presumably with Gunt's help) to tackle the right-hand and left-hand men, respectively. Only one of Menno and Alfwin will therefore be able to flank, so the ref dices for it (M, A): 1 # d2 → [1], so Menno takes the flank advantage.
Wetzel and Karl vs Thick-Neck 2 # d20 + 1 → [10, 8], two misses.
Herald vs Thick-Neck 1 # d20 → [13], miss.
Leudigar vs Thick-Neck 2 # d20 - 2 → [17, 4], one hit! d6 → 1.
Menno, Gunter, Alfwin vs Fighters (@+3, +1, +0, respectively) 3 # d20 → [20, 7, 17], two hits! 2 # d6 → [6, 6] two head hits!
Damage ablation 2 # d6-1 → [0, 5], so one fellow takes the full 6 hp, the other takes 1 hp.
Helm saving throws 2 # d20 → [14, 4], so one helmet is ruined; seems obvious which it should be.
Who took the 6 hp hit (LHM, RHM)? 1 # d2 → [1], so the Left-hand Man.
The ref dices to determine hp for the Left-hand man: 1 # d6 + 2 → [7], so he is reduced to 1 of 7 hp, and to AC 3/5.
The Right-hand Man takes a second, 1 hp, hit and is down to 2 of 7 hp, and AC 3/5.
NON-PLAYERS' SECOND ROUND
The three stalwarts fight on.
Two fighters 2 # d20 + 1 → [11, 4] two misses.
Thick-Neck has a fighting capability of three Men: 3 # d20 → [1, 16, 1].
Who is targetted by the 16? (H, M, W, L, A, K, g) 1 # d7 → [7], it's Gunter.
16 vs Gunter (AC 3 sh) is exactly a hit, 1 # d6 → [5] for 5 hp, Gunter is down to 2 of 7 hp.
These wicked Men are Non-Player Characters so are not subject to random morale dice (that's the benefit of being a player type!); their morale is played by the ref. Given the players seem hell-bent on slaughter, they will fight to the last.
