Already done. Olaf presently has 6gp and 437sp.
eris wrote: 2. looking for more permanent lodging
3. repairing/upgrading arms and armor and replacing gear we used up, broke or left behind.
Both on Olaf's TODO list. Please list exactly what gear Olaf which to purchase... he currently possesses:

Clothing, Backpack (1), Bedroll (1), Purse {6gp 437sp}, Waterskin, Chainmail (4), Helm (1), Sword (1), Masterwork lantern {38/48} (1), Matching tinderbox, Masterwork flask of magefire oil {1/2 quart}, Resplendant Scepter (1).

The numbers after the lantern are turns of fuel remaining (magefire oil).
The 1/2 quart of magefire oil in the flask is enough to complete refill the lantern.

Page 20 of M&T states (of horses) that; "only mules are agile enough to be taken into dungeons."

Highbough volunteers to patch up party relations with the Deacon. Because he is utterly Neutral to the cause of Seyal, he can speak honestly, politely, and respectfully.

Any number of ordinary hirelings (non-dungeoneering, normal men) can be retained.

Henchmen, on the other hand, are equal to 1st level dungeoneering PCs or monster types who will agree to join a PC for 100 sp upfront, plus a 1/2 share in any treasure recovered. They must be individually located.

The number of henchmen that can be retained is limited by charisma and experience level, as follows:

CharismaHenchmenLoyaltyScoreAllowed*Adj (2d6)30-34 to 50-26 to 71-181--9 to 122--133--14 to 154+116 to 175+2186+3
* Plus experience level.

Demi-humans count as double to PCs not of their kind, and cost double in any case.

So, Highbough could theoretically retain up to 7 henchmen, including Elves.

Pelenwin currently knows two 1st level spells: The Infallible Exaction and The Inviolable Tranquility. As it happens, he can also memorise up to two 1st level spells per day.

The Deacon has promised him access to the Temple's Inner Sanctum (where he will be able to learn new spells) if he succeeds in seeing off the grave robbers. Until then, Pelenwin can only meditate upon those scriptures which he currently has access to...

The only other resource he might have access to would be Josiane's scriptures, but she would have to agree to this first.

The Deacon is a servant of Thuul, as is Josiane.

Pelenwin is a templar of Seyal.

Highbough will be pre-occupied with his own pursuits in any case...

An adoring street urchin might be located, with some minor effort, who could be strung along for tid bits amounting to a few coppers per day. But such a person is hardly going to be "impressive".

Gustave might, alternatively, hire a herald, valet, troubadour or courtesan? Services of these can be had for a few pieces of silver per day.

Or, if he is after a genuine side-kick to go dungeoneering, then a proper henchman must be sought.

Desmond is PROBABLY going to steer clear of hiring any henchmen or hirelings at the present time.

But he would be willing to chip in for others to procure hired hands, or maybe help pay for a mule or some such thing...
