Wibert takes the dagger with renewed wonderment, then Pelenwin leads the others back through the warren of passageways to rejoin Dorgan in the chapel, where the monks are continuing to sing on...

...this being the case, he turns the door handle and peeks into the room within.

It is dark and musty within. The old Elf's eyes are still sharp enough to tell him that he is looking at an office of some sort, and judging by the musty smell and the great throws of fabric draped over most of the furnishing, it must surely be disused...
Highbough hesitates on the threshold... on the one hand, he has no qualms stealing from orcs and corrupt men... maybe there are misplaced valuables in this room, or documents that provide some kind of clue/information... on the other hand, doing so does not seem to serve the greater purpose in this case, which is to gain entry to the library and continue his spell research.

Furthermore Highbough grudgingly admits that he would not be able to control himself alone with the goblin-kind (no matter how well-dressed). If he were discovered by orcs, he would not be accountable for ensuing violence.

Therefore he backs away from the dark and creepy room. Highbough will discretely finish his circuit of the Concourse floor plan and then rejoin his companions in the lobby.

Ulric turns away from the throng of merchants in disgust and joins Josiane in waiting for the library to open to the public. He looks for a quiet corner to study his Grimoire, careful to keep the ancient tome hidden from prying eyes.

"Thank alot Pelenwin, we can count on me to aid you", smiles Wibert to lighten the mood. "A Blade of Goch Gwyddyl", says Wibert to himself only remembering what he over heard.

Josiane, Ulric and Highbough; The Concourse Lobby

Very good.

Ulric and Highbough join Josiane in the lobby, and await the hour that the library will open. The concierge studiously ignores them from behind his counter.

After some part of an hour the gaggle of merchants has been subsumed into the amphitheater, and the great emblazoned double doors are shut behind them. Only the guards remain visible, and the lobby seems strangely quiet for a time.

Eventually, however, the hour before noon arrives, and the concierge hobbles out from behind his desk to slowly unlock and open the nondescript door which leads the way to the stair down to the archives. Then he hobbles back to desk and begins to fuss over some paperwork.

Pelenwin & Co; the Cemetery Side Gate

Pelenwin leads the rest of the company out through the chapel (where the monks continue to sing), collecting Dorgan the Dwarf along the way, and out into the grounds.

Gustave and Desmond/Mondesboth seem to have have the sniffles, and the former babbles something about the Sisters of Mercy, but Pelenwin leads them on toward the bone yard instead.

There is a small gravel path that wanders through the ground to a side gate into the cemetery. The gate is old, but solid looking; with moss growing upon the timbers. Pelenwin frees the latch and pushes it open... it gives a creak of protest, but does not hinder, and then the company file out into the boneyard.

The hour is approaching noon...

"Oh not this again", kreens Gustave in a state of unusually ill humour perhaps becuase of his sniffles, "Why has everyone I associate with developed a sudden graveyard fetish?"

He halts at the gate and moves no further, "I thought we resolved last time, that next time we wander into the realm of the dead, it will be with all of us - and that includes our learned friends"

"I for one would value the company of any comrade who shoots fire from his fingers when descending into the underworld, and that new lass - Josiane - seems to know something of this...issue of the waking dead, for whatever reason", he adds, stroking his chin.

"Besides", he continues, shuffling his feet, "it is almost noon, and I somewhat fancied one of Alberts pastries for a spot of lunch..."
