Desmond nods his agreement to their fate and stands ready to lead the party down the narrow hallway, just as soon as the others are ready.

Armando's disappointment is palpable as he watches the coin come to rest indicating the narrow passage. Nevertheless, he tempers the lantern and draws himself up, ready for the descent ...

Olaf noticing Armando's disappointed facial expression says quietly, "One way is probably as good as another."

"Interesting way Jos posed her question." Olaf muses as he takes his spot at the tale of the line, "Fastest way to Gustave she asked. Well wouldn't that be for us to get captured and taken to him?"

"Let's see what 'Fate' has in store for us down this narrow dark path."

Armando fancies, for just the last moment that everyone held their breath over Josiane's spinning coin, that he might have heard far off echoes carrying down the broad passage... but once the commotion of action begins it is impossible to tell whether they were real or imagined.

Dieter has already started off toward the narrow passage; the others muttering their speculations but fall in behind him none the less...

The narrower passage is about 10ft broad, and hewn roughly from the same alien, red-brown, bubbled rock. It is vaguely pentagonal in cross-section, with a peaked ceiling some 10ft over the center of the passage. The walls reach to about 7ft height.

The gently hissing lanterns cast a yellow light ahead of the company, causing jaunty shadows to bob and dance before them. The passage make a bee-line straight ahead for about two score paces before the passage way begins a gentle descent into the underworld and the old-air becomes blissfully cool compared to the heat above.

After a few minutes of silently marching, Dieter and Desmond/Mondes (in the lead) spy an open arched-entry into a dark, silent chamber 60ft ahead. It's not clear at this distance, but there appears to be some kind of pillar just visible in the chamber.

Olaf brings up the rear. He keeps his eyes and ears open for any dangers behind the party.

"If it's a tree, nor one eat any fruit from it... Trust me on this one," Desmond whispers as they approach the arch. Before they enter the chamber, Desmond checks the walls of the archway to make sure there aren't any strange symbols or writing on them what could be a magical ward or some such thing.

Helmut is still coming to grips with his disappointment over the less-than-miraculous spectacle of the Fated Coin when the voice of the mutant hobbit drifts down the line.

Two heads and still as loopy as faerie on gin he muses to himself...

Desmond and Mondes, the pair of Hobbit noggins looking simultaneously left and right, scans the inside surface of the archway into the first chamber, but there are no alien runes or other markings upon it that either of them can see; it's the same plain, rough-hewn, and bubble pocked stone as the rest of this place...

Then they step forward into the room, taking in their surroundings as they step aside to make room for the others.

Dieter follows into the room, looking up at the ceiling and down at the floor before doing so. He'll go off to the side opposite the diminutive duo, both to let more of the party in and to not block the light. Sword is in hand.
