Olaf approaches the Pillock lad, Knox was his name, a big lug of a thing he is.

Knox has no problem with Olaf and Gustave using the frigid, grubby wash water.

"Enjoy it," he says with a hard smirk that might be bordering on amusement. Then he lumbers back to the farmstead.

Gustave marches off to find Pa Pillock while Olaf washes.

He has no trouble whatever finding him, for with the grey sun just now peaking over the horizon the farmhouse is a bluster with activity.

Ma Pillock is firing up the hearth and getting a hearty stew cooking for breakfast, as well as a good strong brew of tea. The smell of warming bread and frying eggs begins to fill the air...

"Ah, top o' tha mornin' to ye" says Pa Pillock when Gustave enters the farm house.

When Gustave drops the sack of coppers upon the table, the Pillocks are modestly happy with it, though they "could'a hoped for a couple of silvers".

They will be happy to provision the company with fresh rations for the day's march back to Ket for 6 cp per person (that's enough for breakfast, lunch, and dinner each).

"Let us get out provision and get going, I don't like ths waiting around", says Wibert. He will scout around and look for any trouble coming before they leave, just to be on the safe side.

Ulric studies the Somnolence once again while carefully tucked away in the corner of the barn away from prying eyes. He then sets about cleaning himself up the best that he can.

Once he is finished, he joins the others outside for paying their hosts, eating and acquiring provisions.

"We should certainly purchase food; enough to get us to Ket anyway."

At breakfast, Ulric will slip some more food to his rot grub.

OOC: How many days travel to Ket? If it's fresh food we should only buy as much as we need.

Ket is one good day's march away.

Fresh food will only be good for a day or two at most in any case.

Guntram is fine with his current supplies, and needs to hoard what little cash he has for life in the big city.

He hopes to fall in with this lot he has found, as they are clearly highly successful adventurers.

"Well old man, it has been a pleasure...no, a bounteous fortuity, to have made your acquaintance" says Gustave, clapping Pa Pillock heartily on the back. "But alas, time presses us (not to mention the insects in my undergarments) and we must move on."

"If you would be so kind as to point us in the direction of Ket, and perchance, supply us with some morsels to nourish our souls," he adds, jingling a few coppers in his pocket, "we will be on our way."

Very well.

The company purchase an additional 40 coppers worth of fresh victuals; fruit, bread, milk, a hearty slice of pork pie each, and a roasted vegetable loaf. It is enough for two meals apiece; just right if you are in Ket by this evening.

Several of the braver among you "wash" in the freezing cold, brown water in the Pillock's wash trough, which is likely where they wash their animals as well as (occasionally) themselves.

So, with newly cleaned bodies, additional supplies for the road, and Ulric and Highbough having completed an hour's meditations in the dubious "peace" of the hayloft before dawn, the company is ready to hit the road.

It appears that the thick limbed Guntram is eagre to accompany you all back to Ket, and whatever money earning venture you might undertake next. At the very least, he looks to have a strong arm and could help lug all the loot back to town!

With final pleasantries exchanged (chiefly by Gustave) before the sun is fully risen over the horizon, the company is on the road once more heading south.

If all the tell is true, you should expect to find more farmland ahead, and to reach Ket before dusk...
