Re: (071) Beringar's Fate

Desmond/Mondes marches off around the wall toward the rear of the abbey, disappearing from sight.

Meanwhile the rest are left standing by the closed front door. Nobody has yet thumped on the door, or rang the bell...

"Surely it can do no harm to toll this door bell," muses Hiridhren the Elf, and sidles over to sway the chain a half dozen times, producing a forlorn rattle from the dented old chime.
Desmond hears the bell ringing while en-route; he will take a couple more minutes to reach the breach in the rear wall... if he so continues.

Desmond stops in his tracks when he hears the doorbell.

"Yew daft idjit," Mondes mumbles.

"Shut it, noggin," replies Desmond. He shakes his head in disbelief that he didn't even think to try it, and returns to the front door to wait with the others.

Ashtad also waits for Desmond to open the gate, but stands to the side of the group with the wall behind her with her bow ready, and keeps a look out for anything approaching.

Re: (071) Beringar's Fate

After a considerable wait a fist-sized hatch at eye-level opens and subtle movement is detectable within as someone peers out...

"Come on, now! Open up!" Desmond says excitedly, happy to be back in the (relative) safety of the abbey.

Re: (071) Beringar's Fate

The hatch snaps shut, then a moment later the door is flung wide.

Therein stand Helmut the grim templar and Armando the dapper rogue. "Welcome back, friends!" says Armando. "We have much to speak of ... Ah, and who pray tell accompanies you ... ?"
Welcome back to the Lonely Abbey.

Everyone over the Thread 69 Please.
