Re: (066) Vulfenlund

Wen is a scholar and an Elf and, as he continues to examine the marks, the teachings of that ancient script begin to stir in his memory... these glyphs don't truly represent months at all, but rather the moons and constellations by which the oldest Elves named the months. Wen divines 'tis not a calendar so much as a chart of the celestial cycle; or perhaps two such cycles? The runes upon the inner ring are recognisable. But aside from a few, those upon the outer ring are predominantly foreign to him.

Wen ignites a torch and tosses the burning thing through the hoop. It passes through the air and falls to the ground behind in quite the mundane fashion...

Ashtad is familiar with the Elvish tongue, but the runes upon the wheel are foreign even to her.

Desmond/Mondes notes both the inner and outer rings of the stone hoop have runes upon them, and these line up with one another in a set of "pairs". At its apex the stone hoop passes through a narrow stone visor with a "window" in it, through in which the top pair of runes on the ring are visible.

Wen would watch the torch pass through with out causing any reaction. "Well its not an active portal, at least not on something mundane. These runes on the outside are representation of Moon cycles, as the most ancient of calendars are based. Any signs if Gustave came this way?"

Re: (066) Vulfenlund

Desmond glances about, mutters, "not sure, let's find out..." and begins examining the ramp and the area on the dais around the stone ring to see if he can find anything of note, like clawed footprints or drag marks.

"How in the heck are we going to find The Gustave if we have choices here for where to go? Heck, we don't even know how to activate it... Maybe there is a clue somewhere in this room?"

After examining for tracks on the ramp and around the dais, Desmond begins looking at the relief carvings in the wall to see if he spots any symbols or marks that correspond to any of the symbols on the stone ring.

Olaf keeps a sharp lookout behind and to the sides for dangers. He knows he wouldn't be able ot make sense of the runes on the rings, so he looks for anything else in the room that might be worth exploring, but he doesn't touch anything.

Ashtad examines the rings without touching, looking to see if the 2 rings will move independently of each other.

"I can't read anything. Wen can you read the runes in that top window", asks Ashtad.

Re: (066) Vulfenlund

Wen takes a quick look around the base of the dais and the ramp and this reveals clearly that the dust upon the floor has parted along the approach to the ramp. Feet have passed this way recently, and probably some number of them; certainly more than one or two, but not likely as many as a dozen. Matter of fact... the covering of dust seems quite intact again on the ramp itself...

Meanwhile Demond/Mondes moves aside to examine the pictograms carved into the walls. These seem to depict various sorts of wolves and wolf-men. Some of them are, in fact, larger and even more monstrous and diabolical than what would technically be termed "wolves" but this could easily be artistic license. One panel has a circle in the middle of it--to the left hand side of it the panel is night, to the right hand side of it the panel is day. On both sides there are wolf-man with standing with their backs to the circle and something--perhaps a stick or a sword?--held upright infront of them.

Dieter doesn't know what to make of it either. So he'll keep an eye out as well, and maybe check for secret doors.

Does he get any indication of anything from his sword? I know some of them do things in addition to fighting.

Re: (066) Vulfenlund

Wen would ponder the signs on the ground. "Well here is a funny puzzle. See the tracks coming up the approach but look at the ramp, not a trace. The ramp needs to be tested for traps before we get more closer, as Dieter and Dorgan found out, this place is not to be trusted."

Re: (066) Vulfenlund

Desmond nods and begins examining the ramp in earnest, looking to see if it can be moved or shifted in any way, checking for seams or wear that might indicate repeated rubbing or movement over time.
