Dorgan will follow behind Dieter, giving Josiane room if needed to illuminate the arch.

With the path clear Ulric moves to the center of the chamber to provide maximum illumination and cover. He looks around for any signs of arcane writing on the walls and floor.

Olaf descends the stairs behind the others after tying the rope to the pew at the top of the crater.

Olaf moves cautiously, but stays inside the area of light provided by the torches. Once he reaches the floor below he will stop and look around.

"You know they are down here somewhere." Olaf whispers, "We're just going to have to dig them out, I guess."

Armando quietly suggests investigating the heap of tools at the wall opposite the archway — there may be clues to ascertain or, indeed, a concealed exit from the room.

Beringar nods at Armando, and goes forth to take a closer look. Perhaps there will be something worth looting!

Very good.

[p Man,mail+helm,sword,shield,9,16/16]Dieter[/p] and [p Dwarf,mail+helm,axe,shield,9,24/24]Dorgan[/p] move to peer beyond the arch by the light of [pp Maiden,leather+helm,sword,torch,12,9/9]Josiane[/pp]'s torch.

[pp Man,robes,lantern,hand,12,9/9]Ulric[/pp] arrives, holding his lantern aloft in the center of the chamber, then is followed by [p Man,elvish mail+helm,spear,shield,12,10/11]Torben[/p], [p Man,leather,spear,hand,12,7/7]Beringar[/p], [p Old Elf,leather+helm,spear,hand,12,10/10]Highbough[/p] and [p Man,leather,short-sword,hand,12,7/7]Armando[/p] who arrive at his cold place in single file.

Meanwhile, [p Man,mail+helm,sword,shield,9,16/16]Dieter[/p] and [p Dwarf,mail+helm,axe,shield,9,24/24]Dorgan[/p] both spy a broadish-passage of the same ancient construction as the main chamber (wide and somewhat uneven natural flagstones). It is about 8ft wide and the arched ceiling reaches about 7ft height in the middle. It seems to come to a sharp right-hand turn some 20 paces in. Notably, there is a large, circular effigy of a toothy beast graven upon the wall at the end of the passage. It seems, almost, to be glaring at them...

| Olaf and Wen else will have arrived next turn... |

Seems to be glaring at them, as in 'Ooh, what a skilled artist!" or as in "roll for initiative!" Inquiring minds want to know!

Anyway, as long as it stays on the wall, Dieter will take note of it but continue looking all round the passageway for any other details that might lead us to our missing friend.

Highbough would gradually make his way in the direction of the toothy-beast effigy.

Dorgan will follow Dieter, observing the stone work for anything that seems out of sorts...

Glaring as in its stone eyes are large, pop-eyed, and fixed to stare directly into the door-arch. Its overall visage is certainly wolfy in aspect; apparently some kind of wolf-demon. But thankfully it isn't leaping off the wall. It's only a carving in vivid bass relief...
