Lantern oil is available (2sp per flask), but firewater is not--the elves try to avoid starting forest fires.
Very well. Ulric will give Desmond 6 sp to procure 3 flask of lantern oil and 30 sp to obtain a silver dagger.

Highbough is on board with the Abbey plan. He gives Desmond 30sp to buy him a silvered dagger. He will spend his final day of leisure in further study of the Gholem Manual to see if he can determine how the Gholems are actually controlled. Are they imbued with commands at the time of creation, or do they receive instruction in real time from an operator? Can their programming be interrupted/overwritten? Can Highbough determine the species/language/identity of the gholem-creator and command-giver?

Desmond takes the coin from Highbough and Ulric, silently wondering how "Quartermaster Desmond" sounds for a title in his retirement years, and procures three silvered knives (using his own gold and silver coins for his silver knife) and the flasks of oil.

This day Wen is only around briefly and spends much time amongst the Elves and out in the forest. When he returns he goes through his pack repairing and cleaning his possessions, when he finds a scroll case he remembers having a acquired these on the road more then a month ago and decides it is time to figure out what they are. He casts Read Magic upon them....

Ring mail is a padded gambeson with 1in diameter, overlapping, steel rings sewn all over it; it costs 10sp and is AC7. A mail hauberk will cost 35 sp and is AC6.
Josiane will take the mail hauberk if she can afford it.

Sorry to be dense, ways, but I can't find the post where you listed how much treasure we'd gained from the adventure at the Abbey. Can you please remind me how much coin she's got to play with? :)

Armando requests of Highbough to examine the Gholem Manual; perhaps together they can discover some new clue to the operation of the automatons?

Gustave devotes some of his remaining time to securing some supply of wine to take to the abbey. If they are going to establish a stronghold, it should be properly equipped afterall. The Elvish stuff is a bit watery and no match for the amply stocked cellars of Duke Marbeque of Stanislan, but it is better than dirty water (or, for that matter, holy water).

Torben

If it can be accomplished before they are set to leave, Torben would like to purchase a silvered spear. It's better to be poor than dead.

(If possible, he would have the spear tip on his own spear replaced.)

OOC: You can ask WotE for another Stealth check if you like but Highbough would never knowingly share his mystical secrets with a human thief!!!

Armando's approach is received by Highbough with a dark and glowering stare that immediately sends the rogue back along the catwalks and platforms of the Elven redoubt. Once at a safe distance, Armando goes in search of a bottle of wine and perhaps a book to pass the evening ...
