Ulric surveys the gatehouse in the distance and the terrain between them.

"Perhaps we should make our way across toward the ravine south of the gatehouse and then try to sneak up from the side? We can keep to the lowlands as much as possible to avoid bring seen."

OOC: Ulric will move in the middle of the group.

Highbough moves into position near the middle of the group, in front of Ulric.

Desmond says, "If we circle around to the southwest, we can skirt all of those ridges and hug the ravine as we approach the gatehouse. The trees there should provide us some cover at that point."

Without waiting for much more discussion, he starts clambering back down the southeast side of the ridge and walks south by southwest, following the lowlands almost to the ravine.

Desmond, being much less encumbered than many in the group, and highly curious to boot, will naturally end up towards the far front of the party, even if he's placed further back initially.

Olaf takes four of the oil flasks with him, two days of trail rations, as well as his coil of rope and, of course, his weapons.

Edit: and a full waterskin

"I'll move out ahead and scout, but not so far that you can't see me." Olaf says and then puts practice to his words, "Keep an eye out for Wibert, we don't want to miss him in this fog."

Olaf will move up the ridge, staying low, and look around (seeing the map, I assume). Then using hand motions direct the group through the gap to the south before descending and moving up the next ridge to look about.

He'll march in front, just behind the lead scout(s).
