"Let's check these chambers," he says pointing to the two remaining barred doors. He checks the first (OOC: top left on the last map) to see if it has a peep hole. If it does he will look inside the chamber befire trying to remove the bar.

"A little help," he asks struggling with the weight.
Olaf will sling his bow and apply some of his muscle to the crossbar.

"Here, let me get that..." Olaf says as he tries to lift the wooden crossbar holding the door closed.

Rest and recovery takes a full turn (10 minutes), but so far it has only been a couple of rounds (minutes) since Caine began assisting Crystin.

I will let you know what happens next (referee reaches for a six sided die, and picks up a large, red one...)

Taines, rope gripped firmly in his hands, backs up to the door, twists his head over his shoulder and shouts down the corridor "hey lads.......aye think we might have a wee problem down below. I canny get either of them to answer meh. They might need some help."

Taines looks around the cell for something sturdy enough to anchor the rope to.

In the passage.

Olaf, Ulric, Mads and Rodrick return to Dieter and the others in the main passage way, whereupon
Ulric raises the next door's peep-trap on its rusty hinges. Within he can but spy another dark, foreboding cell. He leaves the heavy lifting to the fighting-men, and Olaf and Dieter oblige him by lifting the bulky timber beam aside rather easily between them.

Once the door creaks open -- this alone requiring a serious arm -- the party sees by Ulric's lantern fire that the room beyond is indeed another foul little lock up. It is as low, dark and mean as the others -- but worse; against the far wall are suspending the decayed remains of the last unfortunate inmate...

The situation is thus;

Meanwhile Taines and Victor are discussing between them how the rope might be safely suspended over the hole.

Neither of them are particularly canny or practical about it (not a double digit intelligence or wisdom score between them) -- and devise a scheme whereby Taines passes the rope through the door's peep-trap to Victor, who ties it to the haft of one of his (three) hand-axes. When Taines pulls the rope taut, the hand-axe will not fit through the half foot square peep-hole, thus anchoring the rope. However, it also pulls the door shut -- which Victor remedies by placeing the door's heavy beam right in the door-way.

"Problem solved!" declares Taines eagerly, rubbing his hands together. Even Victor gives a grim smirk of satisfaction.

Caine seems to hear echoes of distant laughter and the rattling chains -- and keeps an uneasy eye on the inky darkness all around them as he continues to see to Crystin's hurts. It sure is cold and still down here...

While he doesn't necessarily believe in the luck of the Elf's strange Gods, even a fool knows you don't have to believe in luck for it to work, and Caine has always trusted in his luck. And as fate would have it, his luck holds out once again!

Soon there is nothing more he can do for Crystin, and she is as recovered as she is going to be, short of a good night's sleep. Both adventurers are on their feet once more.

Crystin has recovered (1d6=2) 2 hit-points, and now has 2 of 6 hit-points.
