The party responds like seasoned veterans - Maloof and Aldbane combine to make spider paste, Rhod decapitates his spider with a wicked swing, and Grampus hacks his to death

Now that you can see the chamber, it is a circular chamber with a door in the west wall. In teh middle is a steel cage with a door that looks to be opened by a lever beside it. In the room are the spider-sucked remains of two unfortunates. Gold and silver glint beneath their rags and bones

No more spiders can be seen

The cage is currently closed, with nothing inside. It looks big enough (about 8'x8'x8' cube) to hold the entire party at a squeeze

Underneath the corpses, besides rags, bones, and rotting weapons, are a total of 25 gold pieces and 70 silver pieces

Aldbane tells the others what he hears. "Should we investigate this cage more? It seems big enough for the entire party...or just gather this loot and go through the door?"

"Let's grab the loot, then knock on the door," whispers Wiglaff, "and come back to investigate the cage later."

"Yeah," Rhod says. "And maybe find out where that piping is coming from. I don't like it."
